The Kaleidoscope Girl

Since first I chanced a look into those eyes,
reminiscent of an Australian opal,
I knew there lay mysteries unending,
calling, shy, yet tantalizingly vocal.

Through those windows of deep blue, life leaps out,
dramatic at times creating new visions,
Thoughtful at times timidly expressing,
"I don't know" - "I guess" - "Maybe", indecision's.

Images emerge in colorful play,
princess, debutante, then playful little girl,
Singer, teacher, D.J., on without end,
amazed, I look away, my mind in a whirl.

Mind thoughtfully rested, I look again,
caught up in new glimpse of discovering.
When visions are gone by a word, "goodbye",
I long to look again, anticipating.
