The Ultimate Date

"I asked you for a walk along the shores of forever

where we could travel around each other's lives

both past, present and future,

discovering the uniqueness of all three,

us, you and me.

I asked you to a dinner, prepared with the greatest care,

so we could share a meal of meaningful food,

both physical, mental and spiritual

providing energy to sustain all three,

us, you and me.

I asked you to sit with me, even in silence for a while,

to reflect on all we had shared in our time,

both in the world, together and apart,

knowing the Oneness, the total of all three,

us, you and me.
